If you loved the Buena Vista Social Club film by Wim Wenders and Ry Cooder, then come and join us for the Canberra version of an incredible musical journey to Cuba.
Alma Latina, Canberra’s very own Latin American ensemble of voices and rhythms directed by Marisol Pacheco, travelled to Cuba last year to perform in the Fiesta Del Fuego (Festival of Fire) in Santiago. Come and hear their fascinating stories of a unique and incredible country where music is the soul and the lifeblood of its people.
Also, see some amazing footage of Cuba beautifully edited into two exquisite short films by Cicilia Kemezys.
Finally, enjoy some music from Marisol Pacheco, Cicilia Kemezys, Julie Bassett and bassist Hannah, with their versions of popular songs from Brazil, Mexico and Venezuela.
